Even the kids are going to love this Summer Slushie Extra Fruity Protein Smoothie. Made with just water, fruit and Boomer Nutrition ENERGY Vanilla Protein Powder this smoothie packs in a ton of vitamins, fiber, protein and a refreshing fruity taste.

Frozen fruit works best for this Slushie Smoothie and is easy to have on hand.  Both the peaches and mango are high in Vitamins A and C and provide one gram of fiber in just half a cup, while the raspberries give you 4 more grams of fiber on their own. The raspberries and mango are also high in B6 which plays an important role in converting food into energy and helping the body metabolize fats and proteins.

Keep your smoothie simple with this ‘just add water’ version and enjoy the refreshing taste of fruit while still get ing 20 grams of muscle repairing protein.

Strawberry Banana Protein Smoothie

A favorite for sure, this Strawberry Banana Protein Smoothie is simple to make and packs a protein punch with over 35grams of protein when you combine plain greek yogurt, milk and a scoop of Boomer Nutrition ENERGY Vanilla Protein Powder.

That might sound like it is too much protein in a single serving, but considering the average moderately active 150lb person requires 100 grams of protein a day this is about right if you are having your protein smoothie in place of breakfast or mid day meal.

To reduce the amount of protein you can substitute water in place of milk or regular plain yogurt in place of greek.  You can also substitute honey or vanilla greek yogurt to increase the sweetness but this will also add more sugar to your smoothie.

The strawberries in this smoothie are high in vitamin C and with their diverse polyphenol content, they also provide key antioxidants and anti-inflammatory nutrients. The bananas provide B6 as well as potassium, which has been shown to lower blood pressure.

You had me at chocolate. This Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal Protein Smoothie reminds me of a cookie or a muffin and that is how I like my protein smoothies some mornings. It is a meal in a cup – perfect for on the go, after a workout or if you need a mid day filling snack when dinner will be late.

Using natural peanut butter, with only one ingredient – peanuts – means you get the benefit of the protein while avoiding the hydrogenated oil and added sugar or icing sugar of traditional name brand peanut butters. If you haven’t already, make the switch to buying only natural peanut butter. A small change that makes a big difference when it comes to nutritional value.

The medjool dates and Boomer Nutrition ENERGY Chocolate Protein Powder add natural sugar to this smoothie, which may be a welcome flavour when using the natural peanut butter.

Using uncooked rolled oats in this smoothie means you get all the health benefits of 1 cup of cooked oats in just 1/2 cup of uncooked (difference is the water content of the cooked oatmeal). That translates into 6 added grams of protein and 4 grams of added fibre plus the benefit of thiamine, iron, zinc, selenium and copper.

Give this protein smoothie a try. I am pretty sure you will be back for seconds.

Blueberry Bliss Quinoa Protein Smoothie? Would you try quinoa in a smoothie? I did and loved the taste, but I prefer not to chew my protein smoothie.  I suggest grinding up your oats before adding the rest of the ingredients in this Carrot Cake Protein Smoothie so suggest the same here. In order to ensure the quinoa is ground up and smooth I would add it to the blender or bullet first, maybe with a bit of the milk or water you plan on using, before adding the rest of the ingredients.

This Blueberry Bliss Protein Smoothie gives you the antioxidant and vitamin benefit of blueberries, which includes benefits for the nervous system and brain health.  Research shows that older adults can improve cognitive function, including memory, by daily consumption of blueberries. Combine this with the protein power of our Boomer Nutrition ENERGY Vanilla Protein Powder and the nutrient dense quinoa, its overall phytonutrient benefits, added protein and fibre and this is one filling smoothie.

You would think a kale protein smoothie would taste like kale, but not this one. Not only do you get the health benefits from vitamins and fibre in the apple and mango, but they do a great job of making this protein smoothie super refreshing. If it wasn’t for the green colour, you wouldn’t know there was even kale in this Green Kale Refresher Protein Smoothie.

Using Boomer Nutrition ENERGY Vanilla Protein Powder and vanilla flavoured greek yogurt as well as vanilla almond or rice milk is another great way to add flavour to this protein smoothie so you taste more than just kale.

Hemp seeds are a great addition to any protein smoothie as they contain all of the essential amino acids, which makes it a complete source of protein just like chicken, fish or beef. Adding just 1tbsp of hemp seeds to your protein smoothie adds over 3 grams of high-quality protein.

Give this Green Kale Refresher a try and see if we don’t make a kale lover out of you!

Carrot Cake in a protein smoothie? Technically there is no cake in this recipe, but the combination of the Boomer Nutrition ENERGY Vanilla Protein Powder, oats, carrot juice and cinnamon remind me of a slice of carrot cake minus the cream cheese frosting on top.

The 1/2 cup carrot juice in this smoothie provides vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K, B-6, thiamin, riboflavin, magnesium, calcium and more than 100% of your daily requirement for vitamin A. Carrots are also a valuable source of antioxidant vitamins that help prevent premature aging.

And there is more. The 1 tsp of cinnamon is reported to help regulate blood sugars, has anti-inflammatory properties and gives you 40% of your daily requirement of manganese.

This Carrot Cake Protein Smoothie lets you have your cake and get healthy too!

Chocolate Surprise Protein Smoothie

This is not your typical chocolate protein smoothie because this one serves up a heaping dose of  . . . spinach.

No wait, stay with me. It tastes good. Really. That is the surprise part – just how good this smoothie tastes.

This Chocolate Surprise Protein Smoothie combines the great taste of Boomer Nutrition ENERGY Chocolate Protein Powder and spinach but you will hardly notice it.

There is one full cup – scrunch as many leaves as you can into that cup – of niacin, zinc, vitamin A, C E, thiamin, B6, folate, calcium, iron, fiber and protein spinach goodness in this smoothie and you won’t even know it’s there.

The dates give this smoothie a natural sweetness while the hemp seeds add even more muscle healthy protein. If you like your smoothies super chocolatey you can add a tbsp of cocoa powder, but I find it chocolatey enough without it.
