All the nutrition of a steaming bowl of oats in this Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Vegan Protein Smoothie, nicely chilled over ice on a hot summer day!  Made with Boomer Nutrition Organic Vegan Protein or ENERGY Whey Protein for a non vegan version.

I love incorporating oats in my morning smoothies on days when you need to make sure you are getting the added fiber, B vitamins and extra protein the oats provide.  Just 1/3 cup offers 3 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber plus is a good source of Vitamin B6, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese and Selenium. Add 1 tsp of chia seeds for another 2 grams of fiber, a bonus in a protein smoothie as most do not contain much fiber. Fiber should be a key part of every meal as it aids in digestion and keep you feeling full longer.

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Protein Smoothie


Ingredients

  • 1 Cup
    Almond, Rice, Hemp or Soy Milk - Unsweetened Vanilla
  • 1 Scoop
    Boomer Nutrition Organic Vegan Protein Powder - Vanilla
  • 1/2
    Apple - green, gala, granny smith
  • 1/2
    Banana - fresh or frozen
  • 1/3 Cup
    Oats - rolled or quick
  • 1 Teaspoon
    Chia seeds
  • 1 Teaspoon
    Cinnamon
  • Handful
    ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender or bullet and blend until smooth. Enjoy immediately.

    Store any extras in ice cube trays in the freezer to be added to your next Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Protein Smoothie or pour into popsicle molds for a frozen treat!
