This has to be one of the best summer breakfasts ever; High Protein Fridge Oatmeal. I was skeptical at first, but have made this so many different ways and every time I love it even more.
Protein is an important part of all meals but especially breakfast as it fills you up for a great start to your day. These Easy Protein Packed Breakfast Cookies are another great alternative to fast and easy high protein breakfasts using oatmeal!
Why You Should Try High Protein Fridge Oatmeal
It’s cool and refreshing – just what you want on hot summer mornings.
It’s super easy to make – assemble the night before and enjoy with your morning coffee on the back deck
Its mega high in protein and – for a bonus – loaded with fibre.
Easy to take with you in the car or even pack for camping or mornings at the cottage.
All you need to get started is small jam-size jars with lids and a few ingredients.
Super Cool Summer Breakfast – High Protein Fridge Oatmeal
Extras – full of more protein and fibre but not necessary
1 tbsp oat bran
1 tsp chia seeds, hemp hearts, ground flax, wheat germ AND/OR bran
Extras for flavour
Sprinkle of cinnamon, brown sugar, dried blueberries, cranberries, cherries, raisons, apricots, mangos or dates chopped into small pieces, coconut, almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds or chocolate chips (why not!)
Combine everything in small jam or mason jar and keep for up to one week. Make 4 or 5 at a time so you have lots for the busy week ahead.
The night before add 1/3 cup of milk (almond, rice or cows) and 1/4 cup of greek yogurt. Stir or shake well. Place in the refrigerator overnight (or just for 2 hours if thats all the time you have) and enjoy.
It really is that good.
